Columbus Short Released From Jail Following Encounter With Bail Bondsman
Columbus Short had a brief run-in with the law Tuesday night (Aug. 18) after his album release party. According to his rep, the former Scandal actor’s arrest stemmed from an issue with his bail bondsman.
“His arrest was not due to an outstanding warrant as was erroneously reported,” Short’s rep told TMZ. “It appears that this is a citizens arrest as a result of an issue between Mr. Short and his bail bondsman.”
Outside of the Universal Studios City Walk in Los Angeles, Calif., Short was scheduled to make an appearance for his latest project’s arrival, but was detained at the Men’s Central Jail and held on a $250,000 bond. He’s since been released.
Earlier this year, Short announced his return to the lights and cameras with his appearance in the short film Fear which was released in March.
