Listen To The Stream Of Newcomer Curtis Roach's 'The Avenue' Mixtape
From Joey Bada$$ to Bishop Nehru to Kendrick Lamar there’s a new generation of emcees showing mad love to old school hip-hop with their choice of boom-bap beats and flows dipped in that '90-era swag. Up next of the young bulls that do their hip-hop homework is the microphone fiend, Curtis Roach.
Hailing from Detroit, the 16-year-old rhymslinger recently released his debut project, The Avenue. The 12-track offering finds Roach cleverly rolling in and out beats while touching on subjects such as haters, challenging positive energy and mic skills, and it's all done over classic jazz and boom-bap instrumentals.
"I feel nowadays, especially in music, a lot of people are doing the same thing and its rare that you find someone who is being themselves," Roach said in a press release. Listen to the tape below.
