On the one year ¬†anniversary of Mike Brown’s death, many across the country have taken to the streets to peacefully protest and to reflect on America’s social climate since the 18-year-old’s passing.

The hashtag “FergusonTaughtMe” began to trend on Twitter with many of its users, both black and white, speaking candidly about what they’ve learned in the wake of Brown’s passing. While some believe the year has taught them anyone can be a leader and stand for justice, others didn’t seem to think anything changed.
