Ronda Rousey On A Ruleless Floyd Mayweather Fight: "I Can Beat Anyone On This Planet"

Rousey vs. Mayweather, anyone?

Ronda Rousey is never one to back down—especially when it comes down Floyd Mayweather. Last night (Aug. 10) during a Rousey style Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) questionnaire, when asked if she can beat Mayweather in a no-hold barred rule-less fight, her answer was, of course: yes.

The UFC Bantamweight Champion started answering the question by asking herself the same rhetorical question: “Do I think I would legit beat Mayweather in a ruleless fight? Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time. He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don't get into 'matches,'" she stated. “I fight for a living. In a no rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet. Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that's my honest answer.”

Despite her fight confessional, the root of her problems with Mayweather stem from his domestic violence infused disputes, and his cluelessness on who she is. Who do you think could win in a “rule-less” fight between Floyd and Ronda?

Update: Colin Kaepernick Never Consulted With Travis Scott About Super Bowl

Update: 11:51 am ET (Jan. 16 2019) - A new report from TMZ claims that Colin Kaepernick never spoke to Travis Scott about the Super Bowl halftime show. Sources close to the celebrity site said that Kaep is calling BS on the initial report, saying the former QB never gave his seal of approval to Scott.

Ebro Darden confirmed the newest report on social media, tweeting "Kap did not approve this bulls**t. Get the f**k outta here."

Kaepernick never made this about the NFL or the flag.

Because the NFL, the owners + The President made it about the anthem & the flag and screwed Kaepernick out of work.

I have refused to watch Football until Kaep gets paid, which would be the NFL acknowledging their mistake.

Original story below:

Travis Scott landed in the center of controversy after he announced that he would be performing during the Super Bowl halftime show in Feb. 2019. The outrage mostly stemmed from the split views regarding the NFL and its treatment of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who had been blackballed from the league for silently protesting social injustice during the national anthem. Despite fan opinions, however, a new report claims Trav consulted with Kaep before the big performance, and their chat went rather well, according to Variety.

According to the new report, Travis and Kaepernick had at least one phone conversation earlier this year. While it's unclear what the two spoke about, a source close to Trav admitted that the two did not agree on everything that was talked about, but emerged from the discussion with "mutual respect and understanding."

As previously reported, Scott recently announced that he only agreed to perform during the halftime show as long as the NFL donated to Van Jones' social justice organization, Dream Corps. "I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in," he said in his announcement. "I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."

According to the insider, Travis reiterated to Kaepernick that he would only confirm his performance after the donation was secured.

The two may have reached an understanding, but fans are still trying to persuade the rapper to make a statement during the halftime stage. A Change.org petition has been launched, requesting that Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi take a knee during their performances. It has already garnered more than 85,000 signatures. "It appears these artists aren’t backing out at this point. So now what?,” the petition description reads. "There’s one way they can still redeem their reputation with their fans. Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi: take a knee during your set."

The Super Bowl will kick off on Feb. 3.

VA Basketball Referee Banned After Inspecting 10-Year-Old Girl's Braids

A white, basketball referee has been banned from officiating children's games in a Virginia City after he reportedly singled out and publicly inspected a 10-year-old black girl's braided hairstyle on Saturday (Jan. 12), WAVY-TV reports.

The young girl was reportedly wearing braids with blue extensions during the basketball game. Erica Guerrier, the mother of the young girl and coach of the team, said the referee mistakenly stated that hair weaves and braids are against the rules. Guerrier claimed the ref then made a "spectacle" out of her daughter during the game.

"At the end of the day, they're 9 and 10, so why does it even matter?" she told WAVY-TV.

Following the incident, Virginia High School League Executive Director Billy Haun said that the referee should not have raised concerns publicly.  Hampton Roads Basketball Association commissioner Rick Ennis announced that the ref is under investigation and is banned from officiating future games in the Chesapeake, VA area. In addition, Guerrier said that she would like the ref to apologize to her daughter for the embarrassment.

This isn't the first incident to occur at a sports event involving a black player's hair. A New Jersey high school referee received backlash after chopping off a black wrestler's dreadlocks in front of the entire school prior to his match. The ref was fired following public outrage.

Guerrier hopes her daughter's incident will be a lesson for other refs.  "I'm hoping that if the refs can get more education, more training, than we can see a decrease in these issues," she said.

Quavo Invites Clemson Tigers To QC Headquarters After White House Debacle

The Internet has been dragging Donald Trump and the White House after they treated College Football National Champions, the Clemson Tigers to Burger King and McDonald's during their visit to the nation's capital. In the midst of their failed visit, Quavo has extended an invitation to the football team to visit the Quality Control headquarters, and he's assured them that they will be treated to far more than fast food.

"I wanna show Clemson Tigers and POTUS how champs are supposed to be treated," Huncho tweeted on Tuesday (Jan. 15). "Y'all welcome to come by the QC headquarters anytime. Dabbin' Dabo still #GODAWGS. The Stir Fry Way."

As previously reported, the Clemson University football team visited the White House after beating the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 7. It's customary for the championship team to visit Washington, where they are usually treated to a catered dinner by the White House kitchen staff. Only under Trump's administration, the team was given an assortment of burgers and fries.

Following the backlash on social media, Trump and his team blamed the Democratic Party. "Because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed — so the president is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone’s favorite fast foods,” Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.

After that lackluster meal, Clemson might want to take QC up on that offer. Check out Quavo's message to the Tigers on Twitter below.

I WANNA SHOW CLEMSON TIGERS AND POTUS HOW CHAMPS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TREATED YALL WELCOME TO COME BY THE QC HEADQUARTERS ANYTIME Dabbin DABO STILL #GODAWGS The Stir Fry Way!
