Is This Chris Brown’s Response To Drake’s Karrueche Line On ‘What A Time To Be Alive?’
Sunday night was one for the hip-hop books as Drake and Future dropped their highly-anticipated joint mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive. Taking the Internet by the reigns, the rappers got the chatter flowing by way of a few subliminal lines they each dropped surrounding hot topics attached to their names. In what has been interpreted by many to be a shot at Chris Brown, Drizzy made a reference to his Breezy’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran on “Live From The Gutter:”
This for my niggas on that bullshit and that nonsense,
This for my dawgs that go Karrueche with the chopsticks
For anyone who is not up to speed, here is some quick backstory. Stemming from their 2012 altercation at a New York City nightclub, the two have been at odds over women (mainly, Rihanna). Drake was openly involved with Ri-Ri following her 2009 split from Brown, and Brown later claimed that Tran had a tryst with Drake while he was in jail in 2014. There was also that one time the two had seemingly made amends, but no dice; Brown made it clear back in February that he and Drake were not on good terms. The singer vowed, however, that he would no longer “worry about the next man.”
After Drake’s latest slight, Brown (mostly) stuck to his word, omitting Drake’s names from a lengthy Instagram caption, but also remarking that “these hands work great.”
For the sake of everyone involved, let’s all hope Drake and Chris Brown are not in the same place anytime soon.
