While DMX Is In Prison, His Son Is Reportedly Selling His Platinum Plaques On eBay
Xavier Simmons is reportedly selling the plaques from his father's multi-platinum hit albums for a total of $3,000.
Back in jail, DMX was ordered to spend six months in the Erie County Holding Center in New York for failure to pay child support. In a saddening turn of events, the rapper’s son is reportedly selling the plaques his father earned for his multi-platinum selling albums It's Dark And Hell Is Hot, Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood, and And Then There Was X. According to TMZ, 22-year-old Xavier Simmons has placed the plaques on the eBay market, selling them for a total of $3,000.
Simmons is apparently planning to use the funds from the sale of DMX’s plaques to fund his own rap career. The rapper was jailed after owing $400,000 in back child support, according to PIX 11 News. Back in 2013, DMX and Xavier’s strained relationship was televised as part of X’s appearance on OWN’s Iyanla Fix My Life. During an emotional reunion after not speaking for a year and a half, the two attempted to solve their grievances. Xavier expressed that he was offended by the way his father treated his mother. He also claimed DMX was “hostile” at home.”
“You were always–not always, but most of the time–very hostile. Just in the house, the way you would talk made me feel like [I was] beneath you. Even if what you were saying was good.”
DMX stormed out of the session with Iyanla Vanzant at the time. Watch a clip from his interaction with his son Xavier below:
