Gwen Stefani And Urban Decay Team Up For A Collaboration That’s About Much More Than Beauty
After dazzling audiences for nearly a decade with her pure punk rock vocals and cool-girl style, Gwen Stefani is finally breaking into the beauty biz.
Cult beauty brand, Urban Decay, has snagged the Stefani for their first-ever celebrity collaboration. More than just making women feel beautiful with a fancy eyeshadow palette or Gwen’s signature red lippie, the brand and the star and teamed up to launch The Ultraviolet Edge, an initiative created by Urban Decay co-founder Wende Zomnir that aims to donate $500,000 toward organizations that help empower women.
The deets of the project have been fairly hush, but to kick off the initiative, Urban Decay launched a limited-edition version of their tried and true Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Enigma ($20; urbandecay.com). The primer features a new matte formula with all 100 percent of the proceeds going towards the Women’s Global Empowerment Fund to provide micro loans, literacy programs, as well as business and leadership training to women in post-war Uganda, according to InStyle.
