A Student Was Arrested For Making Terrorist Threats After Posting Eminem Lyrics
A Fresno, Calif., student allegedly posted lyrics from an Eminem's song "I'm Back" in which the Detroit rapper references the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.
A 15-year-old was arrested on charges of making terrorist threats--a felony-- on Monday (August 31) after school officials notified authorities of an Instagram post with chilling Eminem lyrics.
The Fresno, Calif., student allegedly posted lyrics from an Eminem's song "I'm Back" in which the Detroit rapper references the 1999 Columbine High School shooting that left 12 students and one teacher dead.
"I take seven kids from Columbine, stand ’em all in a line, add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine, a MAC-11 and it oughtta solve the problem of mine. And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time. I’m just like Shady and just as crazy as the world was over this whole Y2K thing," the post read.
Classes at San Joaquin Memorial High School where the student attended, and St. Anthony’s Catholic School, where the student previously attended were closed Tuesday (September 1) as a precaution, according to the Fresno Bee.
Officials have reason to believe the student would've taken action, as the student has just gone through a break up, lost a parent, quit after school activities and is described as a "loner."
Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for the student's home and found multiple firearms including a 12-gauge shotgun, a .357 magnum revolver and a replica of an AK-47, along with ammunition and a bulletproof vest.
The family lawyer alleges officials are tarnishing the student's character. The student, who is now being held in a juvenile detention center, said his Instagram account was hacked.
