For All You 'Laser' Haters Out There, Lupe Fiasco Can Help You Destroy The Album

If you really, truly hate Lupe Fiasco's 'Lasers' album, he's plotting on a big way to destroy your copy for you. With a laser.

Artists are used to their fans being hypercritical of their work. Lupe Fiasco knows this all too well. Apparently he's been hearing chatter about his 2011 album, Lasers, and not all of it is favorable. Some critical listeners have brought it to the rapper's attention that they hated this album, some going as far as calling it one of the "worst rap albums ever." Yikes.

Luckily, Fiasco is a solution-oriented man. He took to his social media accounts to share how he will remedy this discomfort for his #LaserHaters.

My 3rd musically related thing I want to accomplish this year is not to make another album but to do something waaaay stupider...I want to unmake an album. I watched the ATARI E.T. documentary and got inspired. So here's my idea. For all you people who really hated my 3rd album LASERS for whatever reason in the universe I want you to send it back to me so I can destroy it with an actual Laser. You not getting any money back or an apology or anything like that. The fact still remains that a lot of people really loved LASERS (Me Included) despite the popular myth that it's one of the worst rap albums ever but sometimes the myth can be stronger than the truth. So yeah....if you have a physical copy of LASERS that you absolutely hate and wish for it to be rendered non-existent then you can send it back to me and I'll have it destroyed with an actual giant laser and send it into next world in spectacular grand fashion and we can all get on with life nice and happy like it never happened. No hard feelings. If your down hit me up in the comments or on Twitter with the hashtag #TheReturnOfLasers and if we get enough #LaserHaters willing to have their physical copy destroyed then will do it on New Year's Day 2016!!! To you #LaserLovers out there with physical copies just sit back and enjoy the craziness that's about to happen lol... This is a #WellBoggleMeGiblets© production

That's right, Mr. Jaco is willing to eliminate the pesky memory with a real life laser. Any takers?

Sir Elton John Covers Khalid's "Young Dumb And Broke"

Khalid has had the opportunity to cover songs from some legendary musicians like Tracy Chapman. Now, the tables have turned. Sir Elton John recently covered the Texan’s 2017 hit “Young Dumb & Broke.”

The “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” musician reworked Khalid’s American Teen track for the Spotify Singles series. In a statement, he praised the young musician’s growth, and he called the song “one of [his] favorites.” Khalid can be heard at the end of the Elton version singing along.

“I discovered Khalid’s music a few years ago, and have been a fan ever since,” Sir Elton wrote. “We finally met when I played his home town of El Paso last year. It’s a thrill to be a small part of any new artist’s journey, and it’s been wonderful to see his star continue to rise and rise. ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ is a fabulous song, one of my favorites, and I’m really pleased that he liked my cover enough to contribute vocals.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Sir Elton has praised members of the newer generation of music. His song “Rocket Man” is sampled in Young Thug’s On The Rvn EP. In the past, he’s sung Thugger’s praises, namely in a 2015 interview with Noisey, where he noted he enjoyed how he pushed the boundaries of hip-hop.

Miley Cyrus Is Making Music With Mike Will Made It Again After Dissing Hip-Hop

Miley Cyrus recently revealed she’ll be reuniting with Mike Will Made It on her upcoming album, which could be considered a controversial move since shunning hip-hop last year. In a recent interview with the radio station 95.5 PLJ, Cyrus explained that her next album will feature a wide range of genres, one of being hip-hop.

“A song that [Mark Ronson] and I have done together is more rock driven, modern Debbie Harry or Joan Jett,” she said. “Then we've got songs with Mike Will [Made It] that lean more hip-hop and songs with Andrew Wyatt that lean more pop/alternative. I just have kind of everything."

This revelation comes a year after the former Hannah Montana star called out hip-hop and distanced herself from the genre in a interview with Billboard, which prompted many to label her as a culture vulture.

“But I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [‘Humble’]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks,’” she said in the interview. “I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my d**k, suck on my c**k.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my c**k’ — I am so not that.”

For her fourth-album Bangerz, the former Hannah Montana star called on Mike Will to executive produce the effort. Pharrell Williams and will.i.am to work on the production. French Montana, Future, Nelly and Ludacris were also featured artists on the project.

Cyrus’s recent country-pop/rock effort, Younger Now, debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 45,000 equivalent units sold in its first week. The project as a whole failed to garner any certification from the RIAA.

Nipsey Hussle Involved In L.A. Brawl After Being Mistaken For O.T. Genasis

Nipsey Hussle had a pretty eventful weekend. The rapper was reportedly involved in a brawl outside of a nightclub in West Hollywood on Sunday (Dec. 9). The only problem is, Nipsey wasn't the target; O.T. Genasis was.

The Victory Lap artist was reportedly outside of his girlfriend Lauren London's birthday bash at Nightingale's when the incident occurred. According to TMZ, several men approached Nipsey and his crew in the parking lot. A couple of them reportedly swung on the rapper before security was called to break up the situation.

While the brawl seemed random, but it apparently stemmed from an earlier interaction with O.T. Genasis. Earlier that night, the "Everybody Mad" rapper was reportedly spotted punching a man outside of the nightclub before chopping it up with Nipsey Hussle. TMZ reports that the unidentified man and friends were looking to even the score with O.T. Genasis and got mixed up because both him and Nipsey were wearing plaid shirts on the night of the incident. While it has not been confirmed, the situation looks like a typical case of mistaken identity.

Despite the drama, Nipsey seemed pretty unbothered when TMZ caught up with him outside of LAX. "That's life. We don't give that s**t no attention," Nipsey said about the altercation. "We workin' on music at this point. Do I got any bruises, any scratches? We workin' bro."
