Ronda Rousey Will Play The Female Version Of Patrick Swayze In 'Road House' Remake
Can Rousey live up to the Road House legacy?
UFC heroine Ronda Rousey has forged her legacy in the world of MMA and will now attempt to make her mark in Hollywood. After appearing in films like The Expendables 3 and Furious 7, the half-Venezuelan fighter lands her first lead role in the remake of the 1989 film Road House. For the unfamiliar, Road House is the story of a hardcore East coast bouncer, played by Patrick Swayze, who is hired to clean up a dirty bar in the western depths of Missouri.
No screenplay has been developed as of yet, however it's predicted that the remake will follow a similar premise, this time from a woman's perspective. Rousey has already accepted the role and has even consulted with Swayze's widow to receive her blessing to take on one of her late husband's most notable roles.
Ronda isn't letting her film endeavors interfere with her future fights. Her agent, Brad Slater, has guaranteed that her production days will work around her training schedule.
