'Sons Of Anarchy' Spinoff Will Focus On Rival Biker Gang The Mayans
Mayans are set to takeover the streets of Cali.
For those who can't get enough of FX's Sons of Anarchy, the upcoming spinoff is sure to serve fans a surplus of mayhem with Sons' rival gang, The Mayans. SOA creator Kurt Sutter confirmed on Twitter that the Mayan Project is in its early stages of production.
"The Mayan Project is very much in the infancy stages," tweeted Sutter. "I will be co-creating with another writer who will run the show if it moves forward."
While many anticipate the spinoff to cross paths with the original, Sutter maintains that the new show will steer into uncharted territory. "Although the Mayan Project may intersect with SOA charters, it will be a very different show. Tone, pace, storytelling, will be unique," he added.
Mayan Project won't take place in NoCal. That steps on SOA mythology. Although I'd love to find a way to use my brother, @EmilioRivera48

In the beginning of the series, the members of the Mexican-based biker club were known as the sworn enemies of Jax (played by Charlie Hunnam) and his crew of hardcore SAMCRO brethren. Toward the end, both clubs established a truce and began to work together. It hasn't been established whether or not the series will take place before or after the events that occurred in SOA.
Sutter has voiced his desire to the see the Mayan Project come into fruition, but didn't divulge when production would begin. Stay tuned for further details.
