The Weeknd Snatches The No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 Spot... From Himself
Signs The Weeknd is winning: He's knocking himself out of number-one spots...
The Weeknd really can't feel his face, as the singer took the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 spot from himself. The crooner's hit song "The Hills" now sits atop the music chart after dethroning its predecessor (and second single from his latest release Beauty Behind the Madness), "Can't Feel My Face."
This feat, last accomplished by Taylor Swift in 2014 and T.I. in 2008, comes after "Can't Feel My Face" spent three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1. During its second week, The Weeknd's "The Hills" climbed to No. 2 before replacing the earlier mentioned cut at No.1 this week. The singer, also known as Abel Tesfaye, took to Twitter to share his excitement on his back-to-back #1 singles:
WE STOLE THE NUMBER ONE SPOT FROM OURSELVES! XO DID THAT

Beauty Behind the Madness is also enjoying continued success. After opening with 412,000 units sold following its Aug. 28 release, the compilation has moved an almost 250,000 additional units in just three weeks. Though this release is the singer's third album, it is his first project to hit No 1. The album follows Kiss Land, The Weeknd's 2013 project.
