Trevor Noah Promises To Continue ‘The War On Bulls–t’ During His ‘Daily Show’ Monologue
A round of applause is in order for Trevor Noah as he finally made his debut as the new host of The Daily Show Monday night. (September 27)
The South African host was all smiles as he quieted down the studio audience for his opening monologue. Noah humbly thanked his predecessor, Jon Stewart for the opportunity and made a few jokes about home in the process.
“This is surreal for me. I’m not going to lie, growing up in the dusty streets of South Africa, I never dreamed that I would one day have, well two things really, an indoor toilet and and a job as host of The Daily Show.”
Before welcoming his first guest, Kevin Hart, Noah also made sure to address those who wondered why a woman didn’t take over the position, and a fellow American. Noah ended his spiel by assuring The Daily Show viewers, just like Jon Stewart, he too wouldn’t shy away from calling out the powers that be.
“And to you, the Daily Show viewers—both new and old, at home or on your phone—thank you for joining us, as we continue the war on bulls–t.”
Good looks, Noah.
