PETA Ran Up On Amber Rose During Her NYC Book Signing For ‘How To Be A Bad B***h’
Amber Rose has hit the trails to promote the release of her first book, How To Be A Bad B***h. During her New York City appearance at Tribeca’s Barnes & Noble bookstore, however, the focus shifted from her how-to manual to her affinity for wearing fur. Activists from the notoriously-aggressive PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) organization rushed the event on Monday (Oct. 26), posing as fans before revealing signs and screaming chants.
In video that have hit the Web, one woman is shown approaching Amber at the signing table as though she is looking to get her book signed. She then slams the model/new author with a direct question: “I want to know why you still promote the fur industry?”
The incident began to spiral out of control with other protesters emerging, screaming chants as they were being removed by security and asked not to touch anyone. “Amber promotes torture and death!” The activists were reportedly escorted from the store following the incident. The appearance was set to include a conversation with Amber about the book.
This is not the first time PETA has slammed Amber Rose, however. Back in 2010, the organization’s website posted rather harsh commentary about Amber and her then-boyfriend Kanye West:
The ethical dropout—who horrified voters in PETA’s Worst-Dressed Celebrity competition last year—and his sleazy sidekick, Amber Rose, were snapped by paparazzi strutting around Paris in “the ugliest things,” indeed. Both were wearing head-to-toe fur, and Amber refused to remove her full-length lynx coat during a show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
