7 Controversial & Offensive Tourist Attractions In The U.S.

In an era where being politically correct has become imperative to any forward-thinking conversation, it’s a strange thing to still stumble upon pieces of concrete evidence that both remind us of America’s racist past and only further perpetuates our society’s current xenophobic views. We’re not talking history books, either.

While there have been successful attempts at liquidating symbolic articles considered offensive in our country, there are still monuments and national landmarks that continue to inadvertently push the underlying bigoted agenda.

In the U.S., there are at least seven thriving tourist attractions that foreigners and citizens alike come across, year after year (above).  Every one of them is as offensive as the next and continue to negatively affect cultural groups like Latinos, African Americans, and Native Americans to name a few.
