Danny Brown Is Bringing The Good Vibes With A Thanksgiving Concert And Youth Workshop
Danny Brown is spreading the holiday cheer at the Bruiser Brigade II event on Thanksgiving.
True to the nature of the season, Danny Brown will be giving in the name of charity at the annual, Bruiser Brigade II Thanksgiving show on Nov. 25. The rapper will be performing at the second installment of the holiday concert at Detroit's Majestic Theater.
In order to continue its support for Detroit city, Brown is taking the show to the next level, partnering with InsideOut Detroit's City Wide Poets Project (CWP) and will be raising money via the fundraising page for both CWP and Detroit Public School system. The fundraiser aims to help poets and creatives in public school classrooms.
In addition to the the concert and fundraising page for Brown's home city, the rapper will also be hosting a poetry workshop for teens and young adults to work on their craft.
Aside from this fundraising event, Danny Brown announced this year that he was planning to release a Dr. Seuss-inspired children's book written for his thirteen-year-old daughter. "It's really about self-esteem in black girls," he said during an interview with radio station Triple J. "You know how black women do so much — process their hair, change their eye color? It's really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself, and she realizes she's just better off the way she is."
Empowering young girls and supporting youth in liberal arts? We're giving snaps for Danny Brown. Supporters can donate to the fundraising page until Nov. 12 here.
