Kansas City Royals Fans Are Thanking Fetty Wap For Their Team's World Series Win
Fetty Wap has been consistently winning since he burst onto the scene late last year with his triple-platinum single "Trap Queen," several top ten records and his self-entitled No. 1 album. Now, according to fans of the Kansas City Royals, the successful rapper served as a good luck charm that helped them achieve a major win of their own.
On Sunday (Nov. 1), the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets in a 7-2 game which earned them their first World Series championship in exactly 30 years. Though the team came close to the title when they faced the San Francisco Giants in 2014, they went home empty-handed. This year, however, the players took the gold and supporters of the Missouri baseball team say that Fetty Wap helped them do it.
Throughout baseball season, the Royals pledged their allegiance to the ZooGang as they employed references to the rapper's music and public persona countless times and in varied ways.
In July, some of the ballers attempted to confuse reporters by mentioning the numbers 17 and 38 throughout post-game interviews despite the figures' sometimes lack of inapplicability. The use of the numbers was so real that the players fined one another if a player did not use the digits. Additionally, the team blasted Zoovier in the locker room after a win to celebrate one step closer to the World Series.
Fast forward to Sunday night, Fetty Wap was on the minds of many when according to MLB.com, the Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer slid headfirst to home base at exactly 17:38:56. Immediately, fans took to social media to give the rapper credit for the Royals' big win:
U know why the royals won? Because they're fans of our lord & savior Fetty Wap. Fetty blesses those who worship him https://t.co/B2SU1CXdhp
