Future and Mike WiLL Made-It Band Together for Charity
Future and Mike Will Made-It will be giving back in a big way this holiday season. The two musical heavyweights have just announced that they have joined forces for charity.
The “Jumpman” rapper and famed producer will team up as their respective foundations “FreeWishes” and “Making Wishes Matter” host a dinner for senior citizens this Saturday (Nov. 21). and a coat drive for the youth next month (Dec. 20).
The first of the two functions will be held as part of a third-annual event entitled “An Evening to Remember.” There, the musicians will treat 300 senior citizens from YMCAs across Atlanta to fun and food (including a take-home Thanksgiving dinner) from 6-9 p.m.
The Atlanta natives will come together for good once more on Dec. 20 when they host the Youth Christmas Coat Drive in an effort to collect outerwear for underprivileged youth and their families.
The duo, who has partnered with Walmart, Radio One, the Atlanta Music Project and other notable brands to raise money for their upcoming good deeds, aren’t the first in hip hop to give back in a major way as of late.
Lupe Fiasco recently announced the launch of his Neighborhood Start-Up Fund which is set to give entrepreneurs in underserved neighborhoods the opportunity to develop new businesses while the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA donated funds to the Hip Hop Chess Foundation, an organization purposed with teaching imprisoned youth how to play the game earlier this month.
