JoJo Pays Tribute To Her Late Father In Emotional Instagram Throwback
Sad news hit JoJo and her family when her father, Joel Maurice Levesque, passed away on Nov. 14. As imagined, it must be a very difficult time for the pop singer, but in light of unfortunate news, the singer-songwriter took a moment on her Instagram account to pay tribute to her late father. The artist posted a throwback picture of her dad and what looks like a two-year-old JoJo.
Her father was a notable blues singer, who Jojo has attributed to her interest in music before. The touching photo shows their tight bond. To complete the heartfelt image, the artist also attached a caption, saying, “I will miss you infinitely more now that you’re gone.” She continues, thanking her father for being there for her and promising that she will continue to sing for him. Fans flooded the image with likes and comments expressing their condolences.
To follow up the memory posts, she sang the National Anthem in honor of the late veteran.
Prayers go out to Jojo and her family during this troubling time. Take a look at Jojo’s touching tribute below.
I missed you even while you were here. I will miss you infinitely more now that you’re gone. Thank you for holding on as long as you did. I know you tried your best. You are free now. I will love you always, Dad. I can feel you with me. Rest now. In PEACE. I miss your voice. I wish more people could have heard it. I promise I will keep singing for you. Joel Maurice Levesque. January 8, 1955- November 14, 2015.
Today I will be singing the national anthem to honor my dad. He was a disabled veteran. I wish he was here with me today. He would have cried. I will be crying because I miss him already. We all thought it would happen eventually… But now that it’s happened, I can’t believe this is real life. #RIPJoel #GodblessAmerica #GodblessFrance and may God help us all to love and understand each other better. To lead with compassion and live in peace on this one planet we are entrusted with.
