Shots Fired: Lil B Disses The Weeknd In New Single “4 Tha Record”

Music News

If you ask Kanye, The Weeknd can do no wrong, but that’s not exactly how Lil B sees it. Lil B recently dropped  “4 Tha Record” from his upcoming mixtape, Thugged Out and he didn’t have any nice things to say about the “I Can’t Feel My Face” singer.

The Based God fired shots on his latest track, rapping, “Call me Lil Bars with the XO Bars/ Saying f**k The Weeknd, I can’t sing that soft,” and “A lot of suckas fake, so I can’t respect it/ F**k The Weeknd, put that on record.” And to make sure everyone got the record straight he chanted, “f**k The Weeknd” a couple more times.

It’s a little hard to see if all the hate is geared towards The Weeknd’s “soft” ballads or if something deeper is going on between the two artists, but apparently this isn’t a new beef. Lil B has been trying to set the record straight since 2014. In Dec. 2014, the rapper tweeted his distaste for the singer saying, “f**k The Weeknd, club going up on a Tuesday. #ThuggedOutStillSippedOff.”

Clearly the beef has been building up for a while now and Lil B is finally putting it on record in the latest track. In the final bars, he raps, “I don’t give a f**k if you’re singing, I don’t give a f**k if you’re rapping, if you’re stealing swag you’re stealing swag.”

Maybe it’s The Weeknd’s soft singing or “swag stealing” that has got Lil B in a rage. Hopefully his next single will provide some background on the issue. In the meantime, check out “4 Tha Record” below.
