Update: Lil Boosie Is Cancer-Free After Undergoing Kidney Surgery

UPDATE: Boosie took to Twitter this afternoon (Dec. 8) to share that his surgery went well. The cancer has been removed from his kidney.

“Surgery went well..God is good! Next step recovery! Cancer has been removed from Boosie kidney… Thanks to all Boosie family and friends and all my real Boosie fans for all the prayers,” he wrote.


Fans, family and supporters of Lil Boosie are sending prayers up for the Baton Rouge rapper on Tuesday (Dec. 7), as he heads to surgery for his recently-diagnosed kidney cancer. Boosie took to Instagram on Monday (Dec. 6) to ask for well wishes that the surgery and rehabilitation goes well: “To all my family , fans n supporters I really appreciate the love n concern that’s been giving to me since I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Tommorrow I go n for surgery n I need prayers for a great surgery n rehabilitation at the MdAnderson cancer center GodGotme,” he wrote.

Boosie shocked the masses last week when he took to Instagram to reveal his diagnosis. In a post that was later deleted, he wrote: “I need all my fans to pray for me. Doctor just told me I have cancer on my kidneys. Prayer is power that’s why I’m letting the world know prayfaboosie.” The rapper did not offer details on the state of his health, or what stage the cancer has progressed to.

The news of Boosie’s kidney cancer now is the second known ailment the rapper is facing; he is also diabetic. Let’s all wish him the best on his procedure.
