Charles Barkley Slams CNN And Republicans For Election Coverage

News

Charles Barkley isn’t one to bite his tongue on any subject and when he was asked about politics during TNT’s airing of the New York Knicks versus the Sacramento Kings matchup on Thursday (Dec. 10), it was no different. As CNN gears up to air the Republican debate on Tuesday (Dec. 15), Sir Charles has not been down with the way that the network has been handling the upcoming election.

“CNN has done an awful job this election, an awful job,” said Barkley. “They have followed ratings and soundbites this entire cycle…I love CNN, they’re part of our company, but they’ve been kissing butt, chasing ratings. I mean, they have become like Fox News for the Republicans, to be honest with you. They follow every single soundbite just to get ratings for their debates and it’s been sad and frustrating that our company has sold their soul for ratings.”

And just when you thought Barkley was done, that was nowhere near the end as he had a mouthful to say about Donald Trump and other Republicans.

“This Donald Trump thing has been fascinating, sad, funny,” Barkley said. “It’s all over the place. To lump all Hispanics together, that was insulting. Now to lump all the Muslims together is even more insulting. This is the United States of America. This is the greatest place in the world. Do we have issues? Of course we have issues. But to try to divide and conquer, which is what the Republicans always do, it’s just sad…And then you’ve got these losers who love that because they’re afraid to look in the mirror and see why their life sucks, so they have to blame other people. Your life sucks because of you, not because of Hispanics. Do we have to do something about the extremists? Of course we do, but it’s been sad to watch every time he insults people, his poll numbers go up.”

Pretty sure after all that was said, all anyone had to say was: Yikes!
