Go Behind The Scenes Of Chris Brown’s Dec./Jan. 2016 VIBE Cover Shoot

After a six-year hiatus, Chris Brown returns to VIBE as its Dec./Jan. 2016 cover star.

Shot in Hollywood by storied West Coast photographer Peter Dokus (the man behind the lens on VIBE’s August 2015 cover photo of the legendary Eazy-E), our final cover of the year comes full circle for Brown and the magazine. As the singer celebrates ten years since his debut album, a mature, seasoned, previously troubled and currently self-accepting Brown emerges to discuss his tenure in the music game and life’s happenings in between. Centered around the release of his seventh studio album Royalty, the story delves into the R&B crooner’s take on fatherhood–by way of the album’s one-year-old namesake–music, legacy, race relations, and his plans for the future.

In this short clip, readers can take a look at Chris Brown in his element as an artist and professional, rummaging through looks and snapping shots for the feature many thought would never come to fruition. Set to the tune of his single “Fine By Me,” Brown’s triumphant return to VIBE serves as a fitting close-out to 2015. Peep the BTS clip below.
