It Looks Like Jay Z’s TIDAL Has Found A New CEO


For the third time in eight months, streaming-service TIDAL is adding another CEO to their already extensive lineup, The New York Times said Wednesday (Dec. 2).

The latest addition to Jay Z’s team is Jeff Toib, who is known as a former executive of Soundcloud. He will sign on to fill his role in January 2016, replacing Peter Tonstad, who left the company in June.

Launched in March 2015, TIDAL, helmed as a “high fidelity music service,” has seen its fair share of ups and downs, but over one million-subscribers later, it seems as though Jigga and the team are just getting warmed up. With revamps to their squad, new innovations such as streaming original shows and an uber-fancy TIDAL Theater in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the service shows no signs of quitting anytime soon.
