Sylvester Stallone Shares Footage Of Michael B. Jordan Taking A Punch On Set For ‘Creed’

Creed continues to knock out the competition at the box office, but for the film to have such a stirring portrayal with viewers, one actor had to fully morph into the role of a boxer, even if it meant getting knocked out during the filming process.

Famed actor Sylvester Stallone shared a video on Twitter of his co-star, Michael B. Jordan, taking a real-life punch to the face from champion boxer Tony Bellew. Now, it was all a part of a fighting scene they shot, but Stallone reassured everyone that the Newark native wasn’t down for long.

“Young creed and getting KO’d for real!” Stallone wrote. “But he got up and did it again! That’s called guts!!” VIBE’s cover star said he opted out of having a stunt double for all the boxing scenes. “I did everything on this film which was a challenge,” Jordan said. “I’m super competitive. If I could do it, why not?”

The Ryan Coogler-directed movie reportedly grossed over $67 million following its release on Nov. 25. This marks the rising filmmaker’s second blockbuster reel following 2013’s Fruitvale Station, which also starred Jordan.
