Lights, Camera, Action: Rick Ross Is Penning An Original Screenplay
Rick Ross is a very busy man. He recently dropped his eighth LP, Black Market, and had two mixtapes this year- Black Dollar and Renzel Remixes. Now, the MMG head honcho is ready to take on another responsibility by penning the screenplay for his own gangster film, GABOS ("Game Ain't Based on Sympathy"), according to Rolling Stone.
"I did a lot of recollections and just a lot of stories I heard as a youngster coming up," he said on how he came up with the idea. "I remember seeing different things, as well as I sprinkled a few of my experiences in it. I feel it's really gonna be groundbreaking."
GABOS is inspired by notable crime television shows and movies, such as Netflix's Narcos and the legendary Miami Vice.
"The fast music, the live guitars, the Ferraris, the women, the beaches, the high-rise condos- that was just like second nature to me," he enthusiastically explained. He also said that GABOS will be "colorful and "explosive" like his music. There's no word on when the screenplay will be complete or filmed, and Rozay is still toying with the idea of possibly drawing it out as a show.
"I feel it's too big to be one film," he said of GABOS, which he said has been "easy" to write so far. "I feel we should film it, break it down and make it a series, if we can."
We can't wait to hear more about Ross' idea when more developments arise.
