Andre 3000 Details Reconnecting With Erykah Badu On "Hello" & Plans For New Music

Andre 3000 excitingly made moves recently following his sought-after OutKast tour leading up to his return to the small screen on season two of ABC's hit drama, American Crime. Now, the ATLien is planing to turn his focus back to the music, which began with his surprise collaboration with Erykah Badu.

The replay-worthy melody "Hello" was featured on Badu's But You Caint Use My Phone project, which hosted a soothing vocal appearance from 3 Stacks. In a recent interview with Billboard, Mr. 3000 spoke about how that captivating partnership on wax came about.

"Our son Seven and I were trying to figure out songs that could help her -- songs that were related to the subject of the mixtape: phones. We came across [The Isley Brothers' 1974 cover of Todd Rundgren's] "Hello, It's Me." Ron Isley repeats the phrase "hello, hello" as if he was answering the phone," he said. "I told Erykah, 'You should make this into a new song and get somebody to rap on it.' She was like, 'Well, you should rap on it!' I'm happy it happened. It was a great reunion, because I don't think people have heard a song from us in ages."

On the topic of his own personal music, Andre revealed that he's always recording in the studio, but it's just a matter of placing his finger on what type of music he'd like to do in the near future. "I'd like to put out some kind of music project, but we'll see," he said. While on set for a film or television show, the "Roses" rapper said it "puts you in the place where you're fiending to do music."

Schoolboy Q's new album, CrasH Talk is here. The rapper's fifth studio album arrived on Friday (April 26).

The album is comprised of 14 tracks and features special appearances from Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, 21 Savage, YG, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, and 6lack. It includes the pre-released track, "CrasH."

According to Q, this wasn't the first version of his album. He actually canned two albums because "they were trash." At the time, he said he was going through a lot of lows in his life. "I'd be in the house smoking weed, just waiting to go to the studio every day," Q told GQ. "That's not a good life. That brings on depression."

It was his fellow TDE members Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock that inspired him to keep working on the album. And the rest is history. CrasH Talk follows 2016's Blank Face. Stream the new project below.

Report: Kanye West Wants To Start His Own Church

It appears Kanye West's Coachella Sunday Service show really inspired him. The rapper is reportedly looking to expand on his gospel segment by starting his own church.

According to a new report from People, Kanye is seriously considering starting his own church where he can perform new music and promote spirituality on his terms. "He has talked about starting his own church, and what exactly that would be," a source told People. "It wouldn’t be the traditional, 3-hymns-and-a-sermon thing. Instead, it would be a way to point people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other. He also wants his kids to be raised in faith, and the best way for him to do that is to live out his faith."

It doesn't stop there. Kanye is also looking to help those in need. "Say what you want about Kanye, but he really does want to help people who need support," the insider continued. "He understands brokenness and the need for healing, probably more than most people. He believes in the healing powers of music, but also believes that God can step in and heal people’s brokenness and their issues."

Kanye West kicked off his Sunday Service performance on Easter Sunday (April 21) with a number of his celebrity friends, including Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, and Teyana Taylor. DMX also delivered a moving prayer. "He is extremely passionate about his faith and wants to share it more regularly with people,” the source added. "He spends a lot of time studying and praying, and wants to share his journey."

Of course, Kanye's plans are not official at this time, but it would be interesting to see what a church headed by Ye would look like.

Gang Leader Linked To Tupac's Murder Sentenced To 10 Years Over Drug Charge

A gang leader who is believed to be connected to Tupac's murder case is reportedly heading to prison for a long time. Darnell Brim, who was a South Side Compton Crips leader, was reportedly sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for drug distribution, TMZ reports.

Brim, received his sentencing after agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) caught him selling crack cocaine.

Brim is believed to be one of the four men who was riding in the white Cadillac that pulled up and opened fire on Tupac and Suge Knight on Las Vegas Boulevard in 1996. The LAPD suspects Brim fired the fatal shot that killed the legendary west coast artist, but he was never charged. Tupac was pronounced dead at 4:03 pm PT on Sept. 13, 1996. Brim was reportedly shot in a drive-by shooting in Compton two days after Pac's murder, which cops believed was retaliation for the rapper's death.

The rapper's death was never solved.
