The legendary David Bowie passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday night (Jan. 10) after ending his battle with cancer.
The sad news was broken by his family's post on his Facebook page.“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
While his family, friends, and fans mourn the loss of a music and fashion icon, his talent and legacy will undoubtedly still live in those who knew him best. Bowie, who adopted a list of nicknames including Ziggy Stardust and Bowie, was best known for reinventing the pop and rock music scene in the 70's and 80's.
