Dwyane Wade's Son Sent Him Inspiring Texts Before A Basketball Game
'stay on attack mode big dog.'
A father is often supposed to push their kids to do their best. Last night before his basketball player papa Dwyane was set to square off against the Brooklyn Nets with a hampering shoulder injury and a streak of losses, 14-year-old Zaire Wade was the one doing the motivating.
"Hey man, you won't get this message until after your game but i wanna say sum," Zaire started off his lengthy text message with, which was posted with Wade's permission to NBA writer Ethan Skolnick's Instagram. He gave his father both advice on his game as well as mental motivation.
"When you attack they will play you with a lil extra room so that's when u use that killa instinct and shoot your midrange. And stop being so hard on yourself, most important play for a passion..."
Zaire also messaged his father about his high points in his Jan. 25 winning game against the Chicago Bulls.
"Last night vs. the Bulls was I thunk (sic) your best game of the season. When you are attacking the rim that causes defense to suck in and opens up and ones for you, wide open treys for your teammates or etc.."
The text must have helped, as the Heat beat the Nets at Barclays Center, 102-98. Get inspired by reading the heartwarming message below, then go call your father and tell him you love him.
