Watch Kendrick Lamar Ignite The Stage For 'Austin City Limits'
Kendrick Lamar's live performance on the PBS special premiered over the weekend.
Not everyone has been given the opportunity to witness Kendrick Lamar in a live concert setting, but for those who have been so lucky, you definitely know what an extraordinary experience it is. And now many more fans will get a window into what that experience is like. This past weekend, PBS premiered its television special, Austin City Limits, featuring one hour of the Compton rapper.
It may seem like a long time coming, since the PBS special was recorded in October of last year. But it wasn't until recently that PBS got the right to air Kendrick's performance on television. The 60-minute concert was something of a hip hop and jazz-infused show, which the "Alright" rapper vibe out with in front of a live band.
The performance featured a medley of songs from both of his highly acclaimed albums, To Pimp A Butterfly and Good Kid m.A.A.d City. The crowded space threw their hands up as Kendrick spit the lyrics to singles like "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe," "Backseat Freestyle," "For Free," and "Alright."
After watching this video, it's no wonder why Kendrick was nominated for a record 11 Grammys. Watch Kendrick Lamar's performance in Austin City Limits below.
