Watch Jada Kingdom Secure The Bag In Her New "Green Dreams" Video

2020 will not go down as the easiest year in history, but Jada Kingdom has made the best of a tough situation. “It’s been a difficult year for everybody,” she says, “but I have channeled all my energy into being creative.”

The Jamaican recording artist and fashion designer can look back over a year of successes, from her mixtape E-Syde Queen: The Twinkle Playlist to features on Popcaan's red-hot Yiy Change Fixtape and Vybz Kartel's soul-baring To Tanisha project. Back in August, we premiered the music video for “Budum,” her first single for Diplo's Mad Decent label, and watched her career launch to another level. She recently graced the cover of Tidal's 2020 Reggae & Dancehall Rising playlist. And today, she wraps the year up with a brand new music video, “Green Dreams.”

Produced by Bocci, D.O. Speaks, and Street Symphony, the catchy new song is all about getting to the paper. “The video really reflects who I am,” says Jada. “A go-getter, putting in non-stop work and hustling to get where I want to be. I had a lot of fun shooting it in LA and I hope everyone loves the level of creativity we brought with it. Everything about the project is another angle from Twinkle as I always like to push boundaries.”

“Money haffi mek,” Jada sings on the song, showing another side of her versatile sound—a unique blend of soul, R&B, and dancehall. “I’m still tryin’ to figure it out,” Jada replied when Reshma B asked her to describe her musical style. “I know what the sound is, but I don’t know what to call it. I might just create my own genre or something.”

Check out the new Reggie-directed video up top and check the Boomshots interview with Jada below:

Sizzla Sings From The Heart In His "Without You" Music Video

"Righteousness will always get a fight," Sizzla Kalonji once told me, "and that is only to make you stronger." That conversation took place in 1997, he year Sizzla electrified lovers of reggae and dancehall music with two landmark albums, Praise Ye Jah and Black Woman & Child. Sizzla has gone on to become one of the most prolific artists of his generation, releasing his most recent album, Million Times in September—a collection of 12 sweet love songs, touching on the sounds that made songs like "Just One of Those Days" and "Give Me A Try" so legendary.

"Beautiful people want to listen to the beautiful reggae music," Sizzla told me. "And you know reggae bashes against corruption. It’s not just a music to sing spirituality only and to make you feel good and sing love songs, conscious songs. And it’s good for social commentary, a very good music to be used for social commentary. And any little thing happen to the poor people, we’re quick to express ourselves on dancehall riddims and on the one-drop roots rock reggae riddim. And what we’re explaining and expressing is the total truth. It’s a music that can be used for expressing our innermost feelings and thoughts."

Today, VIBE and Boomshots proudly premiere the new music video from the album "Without You." Big Up Kalonji every time.

Million Times is out now on all music streaming platforms.

Kehlani Plays Bryson Tiller’s Love Interest In “Always Forever” Video

Kehlani stars as Tiller’s love interest in the intimate new music video for “Always Forever,” released on Thursday (Oct. 22).

The stunning visual, directed by Glenn Michael of Toronto’s Kid Studio, is a creative take on how a relationship can become your entire universe. Tyler and Kehlani cuddle up, kiss, and hold hand in the steamy visual, prompting some fans to question the chemistry between the two. They might look pretty cozy, but Kehlani and Tiller are just friends (Tiller welcomed a child with girlfriend Kendra Bailey last year).

Thank you for being solid.”

The post was deleted after fans in the comments continued to speculate if the two were an item. Kehlani shared a follow-up message on her Instagram Story explaining in part, “I post lengthy captions about all my friends. You would have to follow me to know that.”
