Rihanna's 'ANTI' Goes Platinum In Less Than Two Days
Rihanna's surprise release keeps defying the norm.
The Puma global brand ambassador and creative director said she was training for platinum. And with ANTI hitting platinum status at such a fast
rate R8, her musical work-work-work-work-workout was not wasted.
Rihanna promised that her anticipated follow-up to Unapologetic would be completely different than anything seen in today's music industry. RihNavy swarmed to TIDAL and iTunes to cop the LP and deluxe edition. To fans, the singer's switch up was far from disappointing. ANTI claimed features like Drake, SZA,—not to mention quite a production team. Even DJ Khaled called her record a "major key."
ANTI, her first album distributed by Roc Nation, received 1 million downloads in 15 hours, and was streamed 13 million times within the same time frame. Rih thanked the fans on Twitter, writing, "You guys legit made me the happiest girl in the world!! I'm so grateful that you appreciate the #ANTI album! It's the most rewarding feeling." Less than two days after the release, the Recording Industry Association of America announced the album's platinum certification, making the Bajan beauty even happier.
