Florida Teen Is Being Charged With Practicing Medicine Without A License
An 18-year old in Florida has been taken into custody for posing as a doctor at his own medical clinic, without a license.
Malachi Love-Robinson, an 18-year-old from Florida, was arrested on Tuesday (Feb. 16) for practicing medicine without a license, according to WPBF. He was taken into custody by authorities who ran an undercover operation. Love-Robinson was allegedly advertising himself as a doctor on Facebook, and other similar sites.
The undercover operation was issued by the Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force and the Florida Department of Health. A county official pretended to be a patient receiving "medical advice" from a faux doctor.
"I’m hurt because of all of these allegations," Robinson told WPBF. "This is not the first time I have been accused and I will pursue this, and when I do, you will be the first to know."
Robinson was swiftly arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license, and he was held with a $6,000 bail with no attorney mentioned, according to NBC Washington. His office, New Birth New Life Alternative Medicine and Urgent Care Clinic, allegedly consists of a staff of 'alternative medical professionals."
This isn't the first time, however, the teen has been charged with fraudulent medical practices. Back in January of last year, at 17 he was accused of posing as a doctor at St.Mary's Medical Center. "I requested to shadow physicians," he told reporters at the time. "Next thing I know, cops are there. That’s all I know."
On Tuesday afternoon, the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office tweeted this:"Just because you saw a season of Grey's Anatomy doesn't mean you could practice medicine."
