If you remember, Steve Harvey has come a long way since his early days as a stand up comic. The funnyman is now a certified jack-of-all trades and works as a talk show host, game show host, author and relationship coach. Yet despite his steady rise to to the top, Harvey hasn't always dressed the part.
During a segment on The Steve Harvey Show, Harvey spoke to a man who was content with his style of dress despite his spouse's disapproval. The 59-year-old then candidly spoke about what his style of dress was like prior to meeting his wife Marjorie and credits her with helping him look the part for the career he has now.
"Marjorie changed my style. I was very different. I dressed very different before I married Marjorie Harvey," Harvey said.
The comedian then showed the couple and the audience old photos of himself wearing his former trademark suits that were two sizes too big with a matching hat.Harvey then told his guest, it was Marjorie's not-so-gentle nudge that helped him to clean up his lackluster style.
"When we were getting married, Marjorie said 'Steve, where God is going to take you, you have to look different.' Steve who balked at the idea that he was going to go further in his career, quickly took heed to his wife's suggestions.
"God has something for you, you have to listen," Harvey recalled Marjorie saying "He gave you me, so I could tell you this here!"
