On January 27, 1991 in Tampa, Fl., a then 27-year-old Whitney Houston sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” during Super Bowl XXV, unintentionally setting the standard for any performer tasked with the challenge.
The match up between the New York Giants and The Buffalo Bills proved to be a close one for both teams, with the Giants just edging out the Bills in the 20-19 game. Yet, while fans couldn’t take their eyes off the field, it was Whitney Houston’s stellar performance that has continued to be revered some 25 years later.
