Memory Lane: AZ Returns To BK Hometown In BETs BLX Series

BET’s BLX series is back for another round with season 2, and it’s taking its cameras to a lot of different neighborhoods with many rappers in hip hop.

The digital series takes a look at celebrities as they return to their hoods and the very block on which they grew up before the fame and money. Each episode takes them back to their hometowns where they discuss their fondest and darkest memories.

In the latest episode from season 2, rapper AZ took a trip down memory lane to his hometown in Brooklyn, NY. In the gritty episode, he talks about the changes in Brooklyn since he left, why he had to make it, and a peak into his childhood homes. AZ also got candid talking about growing up in Brooklyn and his fear of getting stuck in elevators.

“I got stuck in an elevator for like four hours when I was in here. I was only about fourteen,” he said standing out of his childhood home. Now, the rapper only takes elevators depending on the building. “If I’m going to the Trump Plaza, I’m going to the Ritz or some hotel or some business building, I’ll get in,” he said.
