One Of Bill Cosby's Reported Sexual Assault Victims Seeks Deposition From Quincy Jones
While Bill Cosby's sexual assault cases against Andrea Constand and Beverly Johnson have been put on ice for the time being, one of his countersuits has picked up a bit of momentum. Tamara Green's previously slow-moving libel case is picking up steam, seeking a third-party deposition from music producer, Quincy Jones.
Green's libel case argues that due to Cosby's denial of the sexual assault allegations against him, he publicly humiliated and branded Green as a liar and untrustworthy. The case against Cosby had been put on the back burner after his legal team motioned to delay the case. Green filed a counter-motion earlier this week, saying that Cosby should not be allowed to stall the case any further because such "gamesmanship" is unjust to the plaintiff's already tarnished reputation, according to Vulture.
In order to move forward, the Green legal team is seeking to depose Quincy Jones, suggesting that the acclaimed music producer may have knowledge on Cosby's alleged sexual assaults. In addition to Jones, they are also seeking depositions from Cosby's former attorneys and publicist.
A judge has not yet ruled on Green's motion to hear depositions from Jones or others.
