Floyd Mayweather Is Planning To Get A Piece Of The NBA
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has recently decided to take a back seat on sports betting, and instead pursue his dream of owning an NBA franchise, reports The Bleacher Report.
In a recent press conference held for Mayweather’s fighter, Ashley Theophane, he seized the opportunity to speak on leaving betting in the past. "You guys know I like to bet on sports, but I'm looking forward to stepping back from betting in sports right now," he said. “I'm looking forward to probably getting into ownership of an NBA team."
Yet he wasn’t specific about which franchise he is considering. This isn’t the first time, however, the boxing legend has made a claim towards the NBA. Back in 2014, he reportedly was interested in the Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN.
Here is a tweet stemming from May of last year, where Mayweather boasted about his earnings while betting.
... I don't do anything for free. I bet $350,000.00 and walked away with $827,272.73. pic.twitter.com/7BAfngsTDn

Still, let’s hope all the legal troubles the 39 year-old boxer has faced, wont be held against him if he actually decides to go with his new NBA venture.
