Frank Ocean's Highly-Anticipated Album Might Arrive Within A "Month"
In April 2015, fans of Frank Ocean were treated to news of a forthcoming album from the singer-songwriter. While many crossed off the passing days awaiting the soundscape's release, which was rumored to be in July of the same year, a few gave up hope. But now, Ocean is making waves again with this latest update.
In an interview with Pitchfork, Ocean's longtime producer Malay, who was an instrumental figure in his revered project Channel Orange, shared that the 28-year-old is hard at work with his forthcoming album, but it'll be released on Ocean's own time.
"I always tell people: When he's ready, the world is gonna get it," he states. "It could be tomorrow... well not tomorrow but maybe a month [laughs]."
Nonetheless, Malay shared that Ocean is burning the midnight oil to create something that'll "surprise" listeners. "We've all been working hard. He's been working super hard. I feel like he's working harder than he's ever worked in his life," he said. "I'm excited for everyone to hear it. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised, for sure."
