Sir The Baptist Wants The World To “Wake Up”
Chicago has a new voice that’s slowly emerging from the Windy City’s flourishing urban music scene.
The name is Sir The Baptist and the crooner/rapper knows how to hit his fans at home with his self-made genre, which he calls “Church Pub Rap.” Sir began to captivate hip-hop fans after hearing his contributions to The Social Experiment’s song “Familiar” — off their debut album Surf with Chance the Rapper, King Louie and Quavo of Migos.
Since making waves last year, Sir The Baptist has been keeping up his momentum with the release power tracks like “Wake Up.” The jazz-inspired lyricist taps into his Christian roots with the help of StokFord on the boards and vocalist ChuchPeople on the chorus. After making its official debut on TIDAL, the Stokes Filmhouse-directed visual for “Wake Up” continues to make a bold statement for social justice in America.
Be on the look out for his upcoming album later this year.
