Tracy Morgan Reveals He Contemplated Suicide After Car Accident
Tracy Morgan endured a long road to recovery following his near-death car accident two years ago. Now, he’s reflecting on that dark time in his life in an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone.
During the sit-down, Morgan described what was running through his mind once he woke up from a coma, unveiling that he contemplated ending his life given his health constraints. “I said, ‘If my funny ever went away, I’d die. And I thought I was going to die for a long time. My thoughts — I was in a very dark place. I was sitting right there contemplating suicide. I couldn’t walk.”
His wife, Megan Wollover also shared her thoughts during that frightful time of Morgan’s recovery. “We were praying and being hopeful, but we didn’t know what to say to the public,” she revealed. Morgan also touched on one of his first stage appearances since the accident, which was his hosting stint on Saturday Night Live.
“When I was going to come back, it was going to be a train wreck or it was going to be a miracle,” he said. “I decided to give you a miracle.”
