The legendary artist took to Instagram Monday (April 18) as a point of reference for residents. The city was hit with 16 inches of rain and massive flooding that resulted in the deaths of five people and power outages for over 100,000 residents, CNN reports. A flash flood effect was placed on the city and the Austin metropolitan area, leaving many residents stranded without food and water. The National Weather Service is expecting more rain to come in as late as Tuesday evening before the storm heads towards the northeast region.

Using the power of social media, the rapper posted places such as the Greenspoint mall where food, Spanish translators and other materials were provided for residents. He also criticized businesses that remained open, implying that they didn’t have the city’s best interest at heart.

Complex reports the rapper was scheduled to speak at Harvard University Monday, but was moved to today at 4 p.m.

In total, over 250 billion gallons of rain has covered the city, making it one of the most troubling storms in the area since Tropical Storm Allison in 2001.
