Batter Up: Chance The Rapper To Throw First Pitch At Chicago White Sox Home Opener
There’s nothing like the thrill of baseball to bring people together, and the first pitch at the home stadium of your favorite team signals the start of peanuts and Cracker Jack season.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chance The Rapper will be testing out his arm and throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the Friday (Apr. 8) home opener for the Chicago White Sox, where they’ll host the Cleveland Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. The game is set for 3:10 p.m. and the Goo Goo Dolls’ John Rzeznik will perform the national anthem. Later that night, Chance will be headlining the Chicago Theatre for Power 92’s 15th anniversary show.
The rapper, who is a native of Chicago’s West Chatham area, is known for sporting White Sox apparel during his sets and appearances. This will be the second time Lil Chano will be throwing the first pitch at a Sox game, the first being in 2014.
Let’s hope his throw is pitch perfect!
