DJ Quik States Kanye West’s “Celebrity Supersedes His Talent Right Now”

Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo album remains the talk of the town given its recent success. With an insurmountable tally of streams since its debut in February, everyone shared their yay or nay thoughts on the soundscape, this time including DJ Quik.

In an interview with radio show NoahTV, Quik shared his thoughts on the Chicagoan’s latest studio effort, stating that Ye had an erratic nature behind TLOP’s rollout given the many changes he made after its release.

“Who does an EP anymore? Who puts out records anymore? Kanye’s so scared he don’t know what to do with The Life of Pablo,” he said. “Let’s just keep this sh*t all the way f**king 100.” But his next comment summed up his thoughts in one short statement.

“So, his celebrity supersedes his talent right now? Yes. Come on, he’s a Kardashian now, what the f**k. What he gonna do to me? Beat me up? It’s Kanye,” he said. “See, this is a challenge. This ain’t a diss, it’s just a challenge. Make your best music, because fans aren’t stupid. They’re just not.”
