This Father Plans To Sell Prized Comic Book Collection To Fund Daughter's College Tuition
It looks like we have an early contender for father of the year. One Seattle-based dad decided to sell his prized comic books collection in order to afford his daughter's college tuition, Yahoo reports.
With a stockpile that nears 5,000, Sanders has managed to collect one-of-a-kind comics featuring classic superheroes like Batman, Iron Man, and the X-Men collective. He also shared with KING5 that he gave plasma when he was younger in order to afford the unique comic books.
Although they were hard for Sanders to part with, he understands the importance of comfortably funding his daughter's tuition, who'll be attending Fisk University in the fall.
"We see all these stories of kids having to take out loans to be able to go," he said. "We want to try to avoid that. If there's anything that can help defray the cost of her getting started then that's what we're going to do."
Through selling his comics, Sanders hopes someone else will be able to jumpstart their collection. "I just hope someone can enjoy them, as much as me," he said.
