Kerry Washington Got Her Dance Moves From Fellow Bronx Native Jennifer Lopez
Talented actress and activist Kerry Washington knows something about busting dope moves. After all, she did learn from one of the best.
Washington took a trip to The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon Friday night (April 7), where she shared her love for dance, Scandal, and her adorable dog named Josephine Baker.
Before the Scandal star discussed the hit drama’s celebratory sixth season, she discussed her humble beginnings in the Bronx. While she jokingly admitted she would only attend dance classes at the Boys and Girls Club of America for the free candy, she really enjoyed her dance classes. She also didn’t mind the substitute who would show her and the others hip moves. “I had this very inspiring teacher named Larry Maldonado and he had this awesome substitute teacher named Jennifer who would sometimes go in to teach, but she left to L.A. to be on In Living Color,” she said.
As the audience finally caught on, Fallon and Washington exchanged valley-girl rhetoric over the amazeballs discovery. “That explains everything, that’s why I’m a really good dancer. It was like, meant to be that I would be famous,” she joked. Fallon also gave his very shocked Fallon face following the revelation.
Finally, another win for the Bronx.
