That One Time Lenny Kravitz And Prince Performed “American Woman”

Today (April 28) makes one week since we all lost Prince, and if we’re being honest, these past seven days haven’t been easy. While fans, artists and publications eulogize the Purple One, for many, his passing has only proven just how large of an impact he had.

Lenny Kravitz–a seasoned and talented musician in his own right–took to Instagram today to post a Throwback Thursday photo (pictured above) of himself with Prince and his ex-wife Mayte in London. The photo may have been taken prior to Kravitz and Prince taking the stage to perform Kravitz’ hit “American Woman.”

Kravitz, then paying homage to Prince, posted a snippet of them sharing a stage performing his classic “Fly Away.”

Lustful for more, a man by the name of Neil Cuff found the full six-minute video of their 1999 performance, and to say that the cool factor was high would be an understatement.
