Lil Wayne & DJ Drama Confirm ‘Dedication 6′ Mixtape
Lil Wayne has had a busy year in the studio thus far, but it appears as though he’ll be heading back to the lab real soon to finish up some unfinished business with DJ Drama.
The Young Money founder recently passed through to Shade 45 with 2 Chainz for Drama’s “Streetz Is Watching” radio show to talk shop with the taste-maker and co-host Sarah Vivan.
The ColleGrove rappers initially dropped by to push their new joint album. They explained the meaning behind the name, what they plan to do with songs that were cut from their final version, and more.
As the conversation progressed, the focus shifted to Wayne once he began talking about his hilarious handful of Samsung commercials, and shared his views on the new generation of rappers.
Towards the end of the show, Weezy and Drama touch on the making of their epic Dedication mixtape series. After he said that his favorite Dedication tape is always his last one. However, Drama said that they’ve got a fresh one coming soon.
“We’ve got more than another one,” Wayne assured the listeners. “I’ve been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape. We just didn’t have the name for it yet. But this might as well be it.”
Wayne also confirmed that he wants to release the sixth installment of the series as an album this time around. While some fans still hold on a shred of hope for Tha Carter V to drop, we might just hear the Dedication 6 sooner.
