FYI, Nicki Minaj Says She Isn’t “Allowed” To Have A Sex Scene

Nicki Minaj has been doing her part to promote her upcoming film Barbershop: The Next Cut, which hits theaters Friday, (April 15) and in support of the film The Pinkprint artist conducted a Twitter Q&A about her role, filming with the cast and what she learned as an actress. Speaking candidly to her 20.5 million followers, Nic said she turned down the opportunity at first, but had a change of heart after reading the script.

Nic, who has also starred alongside Cameron Diaz in 2014’s The Other Women was asked if there were any sex scenes in the film, to which she gave a surprising response.

Using the word “allowed”  comes across as odd to some who view Ms. Minaj as a woman who doesn’t need permission to do anything, but, out of respect for “the boy who likes her” as she was quoted saying on Ellen, we totally get it.

Nicki also made sure to mention the film’s central point isn’t about the hilarity that ensues inside the barbershop, but the impact that one can have in their community.
