A man claiming to be the ex-bodyguard of the hip-hop pioneer came forward to add credence to those who have accused Bambaataa of sexual molestation.
A man claiming to be a former bodyguard of Afrika Bambaataa has come forward to add credence made by several men that the hip-hop pioneer molested them as teens. In an interview with Star on his Shot97 show, Shamsideen Shariyf Ali Bey alleges Bambaataa has been molesting boys since the 1970s and even walked in on Bambaataa.
“There’s always a boy in his house. When he leaves and gets home, there’s always a boy there. I’ve seen them camped, asking him for money. He travels with late teens, those are the ones he takes overseas with him. When I went with him on tour in the states, I’d stay in one room, and he would have boys in the room with him…Since the 70s, it’s been hundreds…I can say I’ve walked in on stuff where I say, what the f--k is going on?”
Allegations against the 59 year old began when Ronald Savage, a former member of the Zulu Nation, spoke exclusively with the New York Daily News about his relationship with Bambaataa, and the several times the "Planet Rock" artist molested him. Following Savage's claims, three other men came forward also accusing him of abuse.
Bambaataa has repeatedly and vehemently denied the allegations via his lawyer Vivian Kimi Tozak. Watch the 24 minute interview below with Star and Shamsideen Shariyf Ali Bey.
